Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas (sometimes just known as “Cabo” to Americans) is located on the southern tip of the famous Baja Peninsula. Interestingly enough, there is evidence that humans have lived here for at least 10,000 years. This is likely due to the stunning natural beauty which is to be found. In modern times, Cabo San Lucas is one of the top five tourist destinations in all of Mexico. From surfing and scuba diving to its scintillating nightlife and high-class resorts, this location is an ideal spot for anyone who is looking to “get away from it all” and yet still become immersed within the lap of luxury.

The Best Times to Visit

Like Cancun, there is no particularly “bad” time to arrive here. The temperatures are mild throughout the year and the waters are likewise quite warm. However, there are many who will wish to avoid the throngs of tourists. In this case, it is best to visit between May and June. It is not yet stiflingly hot and perhaps more importantly, the summertime storms which can be quite strong have not gathered their strength. These are also two great months due to the fact that any Pacific hurricanes will not normally form before August.

Cabo Wabo is owned by musician Sammy Hagar and will definitely leave a lasting impression. From dancing to live music and fine dining, there is indeed something here for everyone. It should also be mentioned that truly immortal names in the rock genre can regularly be seen!

The rocks are truly majestic in their splendor and one of the most unique features of El Arco is that it is bordered on one side by the Pacific Ocean and on the other by the Sea of Cortez.

The waves here can grow to be quite massive, so those without experience should take lessons before trying their luck. One stretch of beach known as “Zipper’s” is famous throughout the world for its wonderful sets and seemingly endless pipelines. For those who may not be keen on getting pummeled by the surf, it is just as fun to sit back at a local “chiringuito” (beach bar) and observe the experts work their magic. Or, one can just as easily take a stroll up and down these sandy shores and marvel at the wonders of nature.
